Black Magic on The Nightly Show

Larry Wilmore is an American comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, media critic, television host and MAGICIAN. Wilmore is the host of The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, a late-night panel talk show, which premiered on January 19, 2015 on Comedy Central. Since he began the show he has done a regular bit called Black Magic where members of his staff watch him doing magic and then react. Wilmore (who is a member of The Magic Castle) uses his magic to explain different political issues.

It’s a very funny bit and last night he had sleight of hand artist Eric Jones perform in order to illustrate Donald Trump’s chances of becoming the Republican presidential nominee. Of course, Eric’s magic struck terror into the hearts of the Nightly Show contributors…or maybe it was the prospect of a Trump candidacy.

Eric is regarded by his peers as one of Magic’s Rising Stars and has made quite a name for himself in the world of up-close magic. Armed with cunning sleight of hand and a charming personality, he has astounded audiences around the world. He creates intimate mircales with the magic quite often taking place in the spectator’s hands. When Eric performs, cards fly, coins multiply, and audiences cheer…or run and scream like they did on Comedy Central.

Larry Wilmore is a self described “Blerd” (Black Nerd), that has been tickling America’s funny bone for years. His profile got a huge boost as the emcee of the 2016 White House Correspondents Dinner. In this video from the CBS program Sunday Morning, Jim Axelrod sat down with the funny man who made a point to crack jokes on the people he cares for the most.

In this video Larry uses his terrifying magician skills to address the lack of diversity among the 2016 Oscar nominees.

This video shows Larry demystifying the then soaring popularity of GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson. Of course, this is best done the help of a little sleight of hand.
